I think Fox Television is holding out on us.

Brad and Lew from 'the Complex' (image courtesy Fox)Their latest attempt at a reality series, "the Complex: Malibu," premieres Monday night. From the promos I've seen, here's the premise: eight couples are sent to live in eight condos which comprise a complex (hence the title). The couples are expected to renovate the units into suitable living spaces. The best renovation wins.

Watching the promos, you'd think that the couples were rather cookie cutter: caucasian and heterosexual. (To be honest, the show intrigued me upon my first glance at Scotty. Woof, he's hot! But I digress.) Color me surprised to find out there's a token gay couple -- Brad and Lew -- participating. Who knew? (Check out the show's site for more on all the couples.)

Kudos to Fox for including the 'mos -- points deducted for not including them in the promos.

Thanks for the heads up. Just watched the first episode. The usual reality-show bickering with some home improvement thrown in, but made more bearable with occasional fast-forwarding on the ol' TiVo. And the team with the gay guys and another couple, their room got judged the best this week!

No problemo! I actually found this out quite by accident -- I was looking at the Fox site for something else and I decided to see if there was anything about Scotty while I was there. Lo and behold, the gay couple cropped up quite unexpectedly.

got something to say?

MadTV's tenth season opener, which airs tonight, features a sketch called "The Amazing Presidential Race" with guests Mirna and Charla from CBS's The Amazing Race. The TiVo is set. (Oh, and the Amazing Race season finale is next week. Ahh!)...
